1) What the Extension Does (Single Purpose)
WABoost AI improves productivity on WhatsApp Web by enabling (a) personalized bulk messaging with safe pacing,
and (b) AI-assisted writing and smart replies directly inside web.whatsapp.com.
2) Information We Collect
We only collect data needed to operate the Extension’s features. Depending on how you use the Extension, this may include:
- Website content / Personal communications: message drafts and chat text on WhatsApp Web that you select or use with Extension features (e.g., AI rewrite, smart reply, bulk send). This is accessed on-page to perform user-initiated actions.
- Contacts you import: CSV contact data you upload for bulk messaging (e.g., name/phone/variables). This is processed to send messages as you instruct.
- Usage data: feature usage counts, limits, settings (e.g., delay/interval configuration), and extension preferences.
- Account identifiers (optional): if you create an account or upgrade, we may store an email address or a user ID to provide premium access and usage tracking.
3) How We Use Information
- To provide bulk messaging, pacing/randomization, progress tracking, and message personalization.
- To provide AI writing tools (e.g., grammar fix, professional tone, shorten) and AI smart replies based on your saved FAQs/knowledge base.
- To store your settings locally (and, if you choose, sync certain settings to your account).
- To enforce usage limits, prevent abuse, and enable premium features after an upgrade.
- To maintain reliability, debug issues, and improve extension functionality (in aggregated or de-identified form when possible).
4) Where Data Is Stored
- Local storage: by default, many settings (templates, delays, preferences) are stored locally in your browser using Chrome’s extension storage.
- Backend storage (optional): if you sign in or enable premium features, we may store limited data (e.g., account ID, usage counters, subscription status, saved FAQs/knowledge base) on our backend services.
5) AI Features & Content Processing
When you use AI features, the Extension may send the text you choose (e.g., a message draft or selected chat text) to our backend API to generate an improved version or a suggested reply.
- AI requests occur only when you explicitly click an AI action (e.g., “Grammar Fix”, “Professional Tone”, “Smart Reply”).
- We do not load or execute remote JavaScript code in the Extension. AI is provided via server APIs.
6) Payments & Subscriptions
If you upgrade, payments are processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full credit card number. Stripe may collect payment and billing information as described in Stripe’s policies.
Subscription status and entitlement may be recorded in our database (e.g., via Supabase and webhooks) to unlock premium features.
7) Sharing & Third Parties
We do not sell your personal data. We may share data only in these limited cases:
- Service providers: to operate key services you request (e.g., hosting, database, AI processing, analytics limited to extension operations, payment processing). Examples may include Stripe and Supabase.
- Legal requirements: if required to comply with a law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
- Safety & enforcement: to protect users, prevent fraud/abuse, or enforce our terms.
8) Data Retention
- Local data: remains in your browser until you delete it, uninstall the Extension, or clear extension storage.
- Account data (optional): retained as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, comply with obligations, and resolve disputes.
- AI request data: we aim to minimize retention and keep only what is necessary for reliability and abuse prevention, unless a longer period is required by law.
9) Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
10) Your Choices & Controls
- Disable AI: you can choose not to use AI features; they only run when you click them.
- Delete local data: remove templates/settings by clearing the Extension’s storage or uninstalling the Extension.
- Account requests: you may request access, correction, or deletion of your account data by contacting us (see below).
11) Children’s Privacy
The Extension is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
12) Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Effective date” above when changes are made. Continued use of the Extension after changes means you accept the updated policy.
